Samsung netflixes Blu-ray players, LG player in stores now

Netflix today said that some of Samsung’ Blu-ray players devices are
now capable of playing streaming Netflix video via the web.
Additionally, LG’s BD-300 Netflix Blu-ray player is also on sale
through major retail chains in the U.S. now.

Linux Foundation values Linux at $10.8 billion, kernel at $1.4 billion

The Linux Foundation has published a report which estimates the cost of
developing a full-scale Linux operating system such as Fedora 9 from
the ground up at about $10.8 billion. The kernel alone would eat up
about $1.4 billion, the organization concluded.

HP announces green PCs Pavilion Verde and Phoenix

HP announced two new desktop PCs for the retail channel and a new color
display that promise to have a smaller negative impact on the
environment than regular PCs and displays: The HP Pavilion Verde
Special Edition a6645f, the HP Pavilion Phoenix Special Edition a6655f
desktop PCs as well as the 25.5” HP w2558hc Vivid Color Display should
all be in stores early November.

The T-Mobile G1 phone: Who will love it

Analyst Opinion – My first smart phone was a Blackberry and I generally
use Windows Mobile phones myself for two reasons: I type a lot on
phones and I’m connected at the hip to my Exchange server- and Windows
Mobile remains the best platform for both. But I’ve been using the G1
Google Android Phone (now that’s a mouthful) for a week and I’m
actually very impressed with the device. I think it speaks to how we
should pick our phones though…
