NASA awards resupply contracts for ISS after shuttle retires in 2010

 Yesterday, NASA announced that it had awarded two resupply contracts for the International Space Station (ISS). The contracts went to two smaller firms rather than giants Lockheed Martin or Boeing. The $3.5 billion contracts account for 20 resupply missions before the year 2016 when NASA will presumably have its next-gen Ares I rocket fully in service (trials will continue through at least 2014).

Micron posts heavy losses, sales down 8.7% this quarter

 More than doubling previous loss estimates of $0.45 cents per share, Micron turned in $706 million losses for its first fiscal quarter, which equate to $0.91 per share. Micron says “people just aren’t buying PCs right now. It’s not like you can sell more DRAMs at a lower price.”
