Hawking still in hospital, but “comfortable”

previously planned, Camdridge University said in a statement released

Hardware giant Dell sued Tiger Direct for breaching its trademark. The
case started in a New York district court on the 17th of April.

AMD revenue flatlines

AMD’s trickling revenue stream has flatlined. Total first quarter
losses equaled $416 million, or 66 cents a share, compared with a
loss of $364 million, or 60 cents a share, for the year-earlier period.

Chinese semiconductor business in deep decline

A survey from market research firm iSuppli said that its semiconductor industry, which showed signs of steep growth before the credit crunch, is now dangerously threatened.

Watch out Hulu: YouTube’s coming with video

Google’s YouTube video streaming site has announced a partnership with
Hollywood studios, which will deliver both television shows and movies
to United States viewers. Among the partners agreeing to deliver
content to the site are CBS, BBC, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Lions Gate
Entertainment, an independent film studio.

Netbooks missing sales targets

News that netbook sales were not as strong as expected has been
somewhat anticipated, at least since Intel’s Q1 announcement that Atom
processor shipments declined during the first three months of the year.
Now we hear that three leading netbook manufacturers see Q1 netbook
sales fall short of expectations as well.

Microsoft on a roll: New Xbox 360 bundle announced

We have to give props to Microsoft. It has the oldest current-gen game
console on the market, but the company has found an effective strategy
to keep sales numbers high and the PS3 at a distance. Consumers will be
able to purchase a new high-end bundle in May. Sony, are you watching?

A survey released by MSN Green (http://green.msn.com/) claims that 70 percent of the population of the USA don’t use a kitchen composter and don’t limit toilet flushes to save water.

First Hacker takes credit for Amazon “glitch,” Amazon apologizes

Late yesterday a hacker, identifying himself as “Weev”, is now claiming
responsibility for the “glitch” on Amazon.com, which caused a multitude
of gay and lesbian themed books to lose their sales ranks over the
Easter holiday weekend. Weev posted his “confession” on a LiveJournal
discussion board on Monday morning.
